Heavyweight Contender Otto Wallin Readies for Comeback Fight Against Richard Lartey in Atlantic City
Heavyweight contender Otto Wallin is set to make his return to the ring since his December defeat against Anthony Joshua. Wallin will take on Ghana’s Richard Lartey in an eight-round main event bout, part of a Boxing Insider Promotions show at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
The 33-year-old southpaw from Sweden, who holds a record of 26-2 with 14 knockouts, will be looking to bounce back from his previous loss to Tyson Fury in 2019 and his most recent defeat against Joshua in Saudi Arabia. Prior to those setbacks, Wallin had secured an impressive victory over Murat Gassiev in Turkey last year.
“I’m excited to get back in the ring and show what I can do,” said Wallin. “This is an important fight for me as I look to work my way back up the heavyweight rankings.”
Lartey, hailing from Ghana, enters the fight with a 16-6 record featuring 13 knockouts. The heavyweight has suffered losses to the likes of Daniel Dubois, Nathan Gorman, Fabio Wardley, and Sergey Kuzmin.
The undercard features several up-and-coming fighters, including:
- Middleweight Marco Romero
- Heavyweight Bruce Seldon
- Lightweight Jason Castanon, all making their professional debuts
- Junior middleweights Jacob Riley Solis (4-0) and Justin Figueroa (9-0)
Wallin’s comeback fight against Lartey promises an exciting night of boxing action as the Swedish contender looks to reestablish his position in the heavyweight division.
