Gervonta Davis to Headline Stacked PPV Card on Saturday
June 15, 2024 – The most popular American boxer is set to headline his first show of the year as Gervonta “Tank” Davis defends his lightweight title against undefeated contender Frank Martin in the main event of a stacked Premier Boxing Champions pay-per-view card on Amazon’s Prime Video and PPV.com.
The main PPV broadcast begins at 8 p.m. Eastern Time / 1 a.m. BST, following the free prelims starting at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time / 10:30 p.m. BST. This will be the third PBC PPV of the year in its new partnership with Amazon.
Davis (29-0, 27 KOs), the 29-year-old Baltimore native, is coming off a 14-month layoff and making his first title defense as the WBA’s primary lightweight champion. He’s scored three straight stoppage wins, including a seventh-round body shot knockout of rival Ryan Garcia in their April 2023 clash.
Facing Davis is the undefeated 29-year-old from Indianapolis, Frank Martin (18-0, 12 KOs), who is trained by Errol Spence’s coach Derrick James. Martin impressed late last year with a dominant win over Michel Rivera, and a competitive loss against Davis would still launch him into title contention.
Co-Main Event: Benavidez vs. Gvozdyk
In the co-main event, super middleweight contender David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) moves up to light heavyweight to take on former champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) for an interim world title. The 27-year-old Benavidez, unable to secure a showdown with Canelo Alvarez, looks to position himself for a shot at the eventual undisputed 175-pound champion.
Undercard Highlights
The action-packed undercard features several other noteworthy bouts, including:
- Gary Antuanne Russell vs. Alberto Puello for the WBC interim junior welterweight title
- Carlos Adames vs. Terrell Gausha at middleweight
- A pair of 130-pound matchups between Mark Magsayo-Eduardo Ramirez and Elijah Garcia-Kyrone Davis
Boxing fans won’t want to miss this stacked PPV event on June 15, featuring the return of one of the sport’s biggest stars in Gervonta Davis, along with several other compelling fights across multiple weight classes.
