Queensberry Promoter Frank Warren’s Decade-Long Journey with Tyson Fury Culminates in Historic Undisputed Heavyweight Title Fight
Queensberry promoter Frank Warren has had quite the journey with his charge Tyson Fury as the pair approach the first undisputed heavyweight title fight in 25 years. Their working relationship spans more than a decade, and Warren has witnessed Fury’s meteoric rise, fall, and triumphant return to the top of the sport.
Recalling Fury’s dominance over Derek Chisora in a 2014 WBO final eliminator, Warren said, “Tyson just did a job on him. He didn’t win a second of any round – so much so that I stopped the fight.” This performance convinced Warren that Fury could topple the then-reigning champion, Wladimir Klitschko, which he did in a memorable upset victory in Germany.
However, Fury’s subsequent struggles both in and out of the ring are well-documented. “He vacated his belts,” Warren explained, “and he got to a stage where he was suicidal. I heard some of the stories. I wasn’t aware of how bad it had gotten.” Fury’s diagnosis of bipolar disorder and his subsequent journey to reclaim his place atop the heavyweight division have earned him the admiration of many.
Now, Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) is set to face Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) in a historic undisputed heavyweight title fight on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Warren described the bout as “the biggest, biggest boxing event of the 21st century” and believes Fury will emerge victorious, stating, “Anything can happen in boxing, but I believe Tyson will win and he will stop Usyk in an exciting fight.”

Regardless of the outcome, the long-standing partnership between Fury and Warren has weathered numerous storms, and their perseverance has culminated in a fight that will etch its place in boxing history.
