Returning to the Ring: Felix Cash Challenges for the European Middleweight Title
Birmingham, England (April 15, 2023) – After an 18-month hiatus, rising middleweight contender Felix Cash (16-0, 10 KOs) is set to challenge reigning European champion Tyler Denny (18-2-3, 1 KO) this Saturday at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. The bout marks a crucial career moment for Cash, who has teamed up with renowned trainer Adam Booth in a bid to get his career back on track.
“I’m very excited to be back in the ring on Saturday,” said the 29-year-old challenger. “I’ve really enjoyed fight week, soaking it all in, and I want to thank Eddie [Hearn] and Matchroom for sticking with me during my time out of the ring and giving me this European title shot.”
Cash, who was previously on an impressive trajectory following a third-round stoppage of Denzel Bentley in 2021, is determined to make up for lost time and put himself back in contention for a world title opportunity.
Southpaw champion Denny, who won the European title last November, acknowledged the mutual respect between the two fighters but made it clear that pleasantries will be set aside on fight night.
“It’s a bit of a shame really because I’ve been around Felix for a few days and he seems like an alright character,” said Denny. “But this is the game we’re in, and I’m going to break him down and get him out of there on Saturday.”
Cash, however, remains confident in his abilities and believes he can emerge victorious in “the hometown of the champion.”
“I don’t think he stands a chance with me on Saturday night. He’s going to come out and try his best, but it’s not going to be good enough. I definitely think I am going to get him out of there inside the distance.”
With the middleweight division heating up, both fighters understand the importance of this European title clash, as it could pave the way for a potential world title shot in the near future. Tune in this Saturday to see if Cash can make a successful return to the ring and capture the European crown.
