Undefeated Texan Prospect Darius “DFG” Fulghum to Face Vaughn “The Animal” Alexander in Super Middleweight Clash
Katy, Texas native Darius “DFG” Fulghum (11-0, 10 KOs), an undefeated boxing prospect, is set to take on Vaughn “The Animal” Alexander (18-11-1, 11 KOs) of St. Louis, Missouri in a 10-round super middleweight showdown on Thursday, June 27th. The bout will take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California and will be broadcast live on DAZN.
Fulghum, a rising Korean-American middleweight, was originally scheduled to face Ronald Ellis, but Alexander has stepped in as a late replacement. Alexander most recently went the distance against 2023 Fight of the Year winner Sergiy Derevyanchenko on the undercard of the Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia event on April 20th.
“We’re ready to do business. Thursday night, we’re showing out,” said the confident Fulghum upon arriving in Indio.
The DAZN broadcast will also feature the undefeated Eric Priest (13-0, 8 KOs) of Los Angeles in an eight-round middleweight clash against Janer Gonzalez (21-6-1, 17 KOs) of Cartagena, Colombia. Additionally, Tristan “Sweet T” Kalkreuth (13-1, 10 KOs) of Las Vegas will square off against Anthony Holloway (7-5-3, 6 KOs) of Duluth, Minnesota in a 10-round cruiserweight bout.
Rounding out the DAZN lineup, Coachella’s own Grant Flores (4-0, 3 KOs) will take on Whittier’s Josias Gonzalez (2-2-1) in a six-round super welterweight fight, while Leonardo “Bazooka” Sanchez (6-0, 5 KOs) will face Jenel Lausa (11-3-1, 7 KOs) of Manila, Philippines in a six-round super featherweight contest.
On the preliminary card, Cayden Griffiths of the Coachella Valley will make his professional debut against Juan Romero (0-1) of Mexicali, Mexico. Kicking off the event, Brandon Sanchez (8-0, 7 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico will square off against MJ BO (9-7-2, 5 KOs) of Manila, Philippines in a six-round featherweight affair.
