Boxing Fans Eagerly Await Gervonta Davis and David Benavidez’s Thrilling PPV Showdown
On June 15, boxing enthusiasts will be treated to a captivating pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, where two of the sport’s knockout artists, Gervonta Davis and David Benavidez, will headline the main and co-main events, respectively.
Davis, the current WBA lightweight titleholder, will face the formidable challenge of Frank Martin, while Benavidez, the undefeated rising star, will make his debut in the light heavyweight division against former champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk, with an interim WBC light heavyweight title on the line.
“This is a dream come true for me,” Benavidez said at the pre-fight press conference. “I have always wanted to fight on the same card as Gervonta Davis, and now that we’ve set it up, this is going to be the biggest card of the year.”
Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs), the 37-year-old former light heavyweight titleholder, has returned to the sport after a brief retirement, determined to reclaim his place among the division’s elite.
Meanwhile, Davis (29-0, 27 KOs), who was recently elevated to the WBA lightweight champion, will face a formidable challenge in the 29-year-old Martin (18-0, 12 KOs), who has emerged as a rising force in the division following a dominant win over Michel Rivera in 2022.
“I’m definitely excited to be on a card with someone like David Benavidez,” Davis said. The 29-year-old Davis, who last fought in April, knocking out Ryan Garcia in a highly successful pay-per-view, admitted that he didn’t fully appreciate Benavidez’s skills until seeing him compete in person.
With both fighters boasting impressive records and a reputation for delivering knockout performances, boxing fans are eagerly anticipating the June 15 event, which promises to be one of the most captivating fight nights of the year.
