Promising Super-Lightweight Contender Brandun Lee Signs with Queensberry Promotions
In a significant move within the boxing world, super-lightweight contender Brandun Lee has officially joined the ranks of Queensberry Promotions, the promotional entity headed by International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee and promoter Frank Warren.
The 25-year-old Californian, boasting an impressive record of 28 wins and 23 knockouts, has not stepped into the ring since his 10-round decision victory over Mexico’s Pedro Campa in Carson back in April 2023. Lee, a native of La Quinta, has now joined fellow American Nathan Lugo as part of Queensberry’s growing stable of talented fighters.
“I am thrilled to have signed with Queensberry Promotions,” Lee expressed. “I’m looking to start a wonderful new campaign with the Warrens and Queensberry as a whole this summer. I know they will provide me with great opportunities in the future. My team is now complete, and I’m ready for war.”
Lee’s manager, David McWater, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Brandun has always had the potential to be not just great American talent, but a worldwide star. Queensberry Promotions are the best at doing just that, developing star fighters from all over the world. In Brandun, Queensberry now represents a boxer that is still only 25 years young, but at the same time, might only be a couple fights away from a world-title opportunity.”
Echoing the sentiments, Frank Warren, the head of Queensberry Promotions, said, “Brandun is an exceptional talent in the super-lightweight division, who will now be given the platform to showcase himself and perform in the big fights and occasions that his talent deserves. His record so far speaks for itself, and his pedigree is obvious, so we will now provide him with every opportunity and position him for major title challenges, which I am certain he will capitalize on.”
BoxingScene understands that Lee could make his Queensberry debut on the undercard of the highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Joe Joyce and Derek Chisora at London’s O2 Arena on July 27, although his promoters are yet to confirm his inclusion.
