Australian Heavyweight Justis Huni to make Homecoming Bout on July 25
Australian heavyweight sensation Justis Huni is set to make his long-awaited return to his home country on July 25, as he takes on Troy Pilcher at the Fortitude Music Hall in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. This will be Huni’s first fight in Australia in 18 months, and it comes at a time when the sport of boxing is experiencing a resurgence Down Under, largely fueled by the success of Jai Opetaia at cruiserweight and Liam Paro’s recent IBF junior welterweight title triumph.
“We are thrilled to bring such a high-stakes fight to Brisbane, and doing it with Matchroom Boxing and Gold Star Promotions is groundbreaking for Australian boxing,” said Mick Francis of Tasman Fighters. “Justis Huni’s return marks a significant moment for Australian boxing, and with Troy Pilcher stepping into the ring, fans can expect nothing short of an unforgettable night.”
The 25-year-old Huni will be looking to make a statement on home soil as he continues his pursuit of world title glory in the heavyweight division. Pilcher, his opponent, will undoubtedly provide a stern test, but the local favorite will be aiming to captivate the passionate Brisbane crowd and further solidify his status as one of the rising stars of Australian boxing.
