Boxing News: Cash Returns for European Title Clash with Denny
Felix Cash Challenges Tyler Denny for European Middleweight Title
Felix Cash, the former British and Commonwealth middleweight champion, is set to make his much-anticipated return to the ring on June 22nd at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. Cash will challenge Tyler Denny for the European middleweight title in his first fight under the tutelage of renowned trainer Adam Booth.
The 16-0 (10 KOs) Cash, who has been ranked No. 8 by The Ring magazine, has been plagued by out-of-the-ring issues and has not fought since December 2022, when he defeated Portugal’s Celso Neves. Denny, on the other hand, won the European title in November 2022, stopping the veteran Italian, Mateo Signani, in eight rounds.
“I’m buzzing to be defending my European Title and against such a good fighter in Felix Cash,” said Denny. “Add to the fact it’s in Birmingham so the Black Country army will be out in full force to witness a great fight and one that I’m confident of winning.”
Cash, who is eager to secure a world title shot later this year, acknowledged the challenge ahead of him. “Tyler Denny is a solid professional, but I have no time to lose,” he admitted. “My plan is to get him out of my way as quickly as possible and move on to world level.“
Undercard Highlights
The undercard will feature an exciting welterweight clash between Belfast’s undefeated prospect Lewis Crocker (19-0, 11 KOs) and Wolverhampton’s Conah Walker (13-2-1, 5 KOs). The two fighters have expressed their eagerness to put on a show for the fans.
Additionally, the card will see a highly anticipated lightweight grudge match between Newcastle’s Cameron Vuong (4-0, 3 KOs) and Oxford’s Jordan Flynn (10-0-1, 1 KO), who engaged in a post-fight pushing match on a previous event. Furthermore, Shannon Ryan (7-0) of Watford and Emma Dolan (6-0, 1 KO) of Newark will make history as the first women to contest the British super-flyweight title, with Dolan’s Commonwealth title also on the line.
“It’s the long-awaited return of former British and Commonwealth middleweight champion Felix Cash under the guidance of new coach Adam Booth, and he jumps straight back in at the deep end against European champion Tyler Denny. Lewis Crocker against Conah Walker can only be an all-out war and bitter rivals Cameron Vuong and Jordan Flynn will finally get it on after all of the trash talk,” said Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn.
