Undefeated Prospect Abel Gonzalez Scores First-Round TKO on “Wednesday Night Fights”
On Wednesday night, boxing fans were treated to an action-packed card at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida, as part of the “Wednesday Night Fights” series. In the co-feature bout, undefeated super middleweight prospect Abel Gonzalez (7-0, 5 KOs) made quick work of Alarenz Reynolds (6-1, 3 KOs), also known as Al Stanton, stopping him via technical knockout in the first round.
“The fight was a brawl from the opening bell, with both men coming out aggressively.”
Less than a minute into the first round, Gonzalez, a 26-year-old Florida native, landed a thunderous right hand that sent Reynolds to the canvas. After beating the count, Reynolds was unable to withstand the onslaught, as Gonzalez followed up with two more powerful right hands, prompting referee Christopher Young to call a halt to the contest at the 2:00 mark.
Valsaint Stops Hill in the Third Round
In the main event, 2020 Haitian Olympian Darrelle Valsaint (11-0, 9 KOs) continued his impressive professional run, stopping Pachino Hill (8-6-2, 6 KOs) in the third round of their scheduled eight-round middleweight clash. Valsaint floored Hill with a devastating left hook to the body in the opening round and then finished the job with a left uppercut in the third, forcing the referee to intervene at the 0:36 mark.
McCarthy Secures Unanimous Decision Victory
The night’s action began with a junior welterweight clash, as Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 1 KO) scored a unanimous decision victory over veteran Ryan Schwartzberg (4-15-3, 2 KOs). McCarthy’s strong jab was the key to his success, as he dropped Schwartzberg in the second round en route to securing scores of 59-54, 60-53, and 60-53.
