Boxing Excitement Heats Up as Katzourakis and Abdukakhorov Make Weight for Highly Anticipated Showdown
Houston, TX, May 12th, 2023 – The highly anticipated junior middleweight bout between Andres Katzourakis and Kudratillo Abdukakhorov is set to take place at the Red Owl Boxing Arena in Houston tomorrow, following a successful weigh-in on Thursday.
Katzourakis, the undefeated Greek fighter trained by renowned coach Ronnie Shields, tipped the scales at 153.2 pounds, while his opponent, the hard-hitting “Punisher” Abdukakhorov, came in at 153.6 pounds for their scheduled 10-round main event.
“I am very excited to be headlining my first televised show on DAZN and Overtime,” said the 26-year-old Katzourakis, who is aiming to make a statement in his transition from kickboxing to professional boxing. “I was waiting for a moment like this, and I am about to put on a show for everybody.”
Abdukakhorov, 30, is on a two-fight winning streak after consecutive losses at the welterweight division, which prompted his move up to junior middleweight. The Uzbekistani fighter will look to use his power and experience to overcome the undefeated Katzourakis.
Co-Main Event
In the co-main event, undefeated Robert Terry (11-0-1, 4 KOs) will face off against Estevan Villalobos (16-2-1, 12 KOs) in another 10-round junior middleweight clash. Terry weighed in at the 154-pound limit, while Villalobos came in slightly lighter at 153.8 pounds.
As with all Overtime Boxing shows, in the event of a draw, an extra round will be fought to determine the winner. The winners of the main event and co-main event will face one another later this year, with Brandon Adams and Francisco Daniel Veron, who won on the previous OTX show, set to meet in the other semifinal.
