Promising Debutant Uddin Scores Stunning KO on NXTGEN Undercard
On the undercard of the NXTGEN event in Liverpool, Hamza Uddin (1-0) made a spectacular professional debut, securing a stunning third-round knockout against Santiago San Eusebio (3-8-2, 2 KOs).
Uddin started his first fight with real intent, landing powerful right hands while keeping his guard low. He continued to showcase his flair, unleashing a series of unanswered right uppercut-left hand combinations.
Uddin maintained his dominance in the second round, firing off a flurry of double jabs and following up with a crushing left hook to the head, leaving his opponent in serious trouble. A well-placed left to the body drew a wince from Eusebio, and Uddin capped off the round with a thunderous right uppercut.
The debutant sealed the victory just a minute into the third round, landing a massive left hand that sent Eusebio to the canvas. Although the Frenchman managed to beat the count, referee Howard Foster waved off the fight, awarding Uddin a spectacular third-round knockout triumph on his professional debut.
Courtney Extends Undefeated Run in Flyweight Division
In the flyweight division, Maisey Rose Courtney (6-0) continued her undefeated run, securing a points victory over the experienced Giuseppina Di Stefano (7-2-1). Courtney dominated the fight from the outset, utilizing her jab and landing calculated right hands in the opening round. As the bout progressed, the Englishwoman increased the tempo, showcasing her speed, movement, and varied attacks, which left the Italian veteran struggling to find a response.
Despite some late pressure from Di Stefano, Courtney maintained her composure and boxed her way to a comfortable 78-75 points decision, extending her perfect professional record to 6-0.
Stringer Remains Undefeated with Points Victory
The preliminary card also featured local lightweight prospect Frankie Stringer (7-0), who faced off against Brazilian Jonatas Rodrigo Gomes de Oliveira (6-8, 5 KOs) over six rounds. While the early stages were relatively quiet, Stringer seized control in the fourth round, landing a series of solid right hands to the head of his opponent. The Liverpudlian continued to press the action in the fifth and sixth rounds, ultimately securing a comfortable 60-54 points victory to remain undefeated.
