Heavyweight Boxing Showdown: Tyson Fury Tipped to Overpower Oleksandr Usyk for Undisputed Title
In a highly anticipated heavyweight clash, boxing legend Mike Tyson believes Tyson Fury will emerge victorious over Oleksandr Usyk this Saturday for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.
The upcoming fight promises to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the ‘four-belt era’ since Lennox Lewis over 25 years ago. Usyk, who already holds the distinction of being an undisputed cruiserweight champion, has successfully made the transition to the heavyweight division, beating Anthony Joshua twice to collect three of the four major belts.
However, Tyson, who himself became the undisputed heavyweight champion in 1987, thinks Fury’s sheer size and power will be too much for the Ukrainian. “I look forward to that fight [Fury vs. Usyk]. That is going to be an interesting fight,” Tyson told FightHype. “I’m going towards Tyson Fury because I think he’s just going to overpower him. He’s going to catch up with him and overpower him.”
Despite Fury’s recent struggle against boxing debutant Francis Ngannou, where the champion was even dropped, Tyson believes it was just a bad night for the Englishman. “Hey, we should [not focus on what Fury did against Ngannou], but you have to understand that he is still the champion. He made that night a great night. He gave Francis [Ngannou] the opportunity, and that was just a bad night at the office for him. We all have bad nights, and listen, that was his bad night.”
Tyson’s confidence in Fury’s abilities is unwavering, as he considers the 6’9″ heavyweight the best fighter in the world, especially in the heavyweight division. “I got to go with Fury. I think he’s the best fighter in the world, especially in the heavyweight division. Great fighters lose, great fighters look bad, that doesn’t stop them from being great fighters.”
